Melinda Benko

MC Members

MSc and PhD in architecture engineering, urban designer, associate professor, Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. She teaches theory and practice of contemporary urban design focusing on the sustainability and the resilience of cities. Benko coordinates or participates at different research topics: Budapest 2050, UrbAct – ReBlock: renewal of large housing estate, energy efficient renewal of historic city centre, contemporary European urban design theory, crime prevention through urban design and planning etc. She has also professional experience in design, awarded for several Hungarian architectural and urban project competitions.
