Programme day by day

 

Saturday 22: 17:00-20:00 Arrival and meeting with presentation of participants plus a short introduction to COST TU 1203 (Umberto), CP-UDP (Paul) and the program of the Summer School (Bo). In between we have a CP-UDP game outdoors in the neighbourhood.

Sunday 23: 9:00-10:30 Lecture on the development of Copenhagen (Bo), 10:30-16:00 Sightseeing tour in the Copenhagen area including lunch (sandwiches brought in the bus), 16:00 – 20:00 lectures on CP-UDP in Europe (Paul) and Denmark (Bo). In between the lectures, the traineess are asked to tell about CP-UDP/Crime prevention in their country (max. 5 minutes each). They can use the TU 1203 European literature review from last year as a start.

Monday 24: 9:00 – 12:30 Introduction and visit to the Case Studies sites (City of Copenhagen officials). The trainees take photos during the visit to the sites. 14:00-15:30 Digital photos from visits are put on a digital map. Discussion and selection of group study tasks, 15:30-16:30 introduction to case study methodology tools (Umberto – eventually supported by Bo and Paul), 16:30 group work for the rest of the day.

Tuesday 25: 9:00-11:00 Short plenary session on the group work. Presentation of relevant existing European cases with interesting CP-UDP solutions. Introduction of more tools for CP-UDP problem solving, planning and design (Paul, Bo and Umberto) 11:00 – 16:30 group work: Analysis of Case Study site: making maps, photo documentation, listing of problems, etc. 17:00-18:30 Plenary session on the group work – presentation and discussion of the case study analyses, 18:30 group work for the rest of the day

Wednesday 26: 9:00 Group work for the rest of the day. Continued analyses of the case study site, discussing solutions. The instructors will meet with each group at least twice during the day.

Thursday 27: 9:00-18:00 Group work: Designing solutions for CP-UDP in the Case Study area. The instructors will meet with each group at least once during the day.18:00-21:00 Intermediary plenary presentation of proposals

Friday 28: 9:00-18:00 Group work: Continued design and refinement of solutions in the Case Study area. The instructors will meet with each group at least once during the day. Preparing the final presentation. 18:00-21:00 Intermediary plenary presentation of proposals

Saturday 29: 9:00-15:30 Preparing the final presentation. 16:00-21:00 Final presentation of analyses and design proposals for the Case Study area. Groups presentations 10-15 minutes followed by a break to look at posters and take notes, then questions and answers. Evaluation of the groups results. Discussion of what has been learned during the week. Discussion on the problems and perspectives for CP-UDP in Europe – Grand finale by Umberto, Paul and Bo. 21:00 Official dinner.
